We know the pain of organizing a team because we've lived it. LyneUp was born on the sidelines.
I grew up playing organized sports. From youth leagues to high school teams, sports shaped who I am: the discipline, the friendships, the pure joy of competing together. And even now, I still lace up my cleats every weekend for coed soccer. It's actually how I met my wife.
But here's the thing about playing on a team as an adult: the game itself is the easy part. It's everything else that's a headache. Every week, our group chat blew up with the same questions: "What time is the game?" "Who's coming?" "Has everyone paid?" We collected dues through Venmo and Zelle, tracked attendance in our heads, and inevitably someone always fell through the cracks.
As we dug deeper, we realized this wasn't just our problem. It's a problem across organized sports everywhere: youth leagues, club teams, recreational leagues, you name it. Coaches spending their evenings chasing down payments. Parents juggling three different apps just to know when to show up. Kids missing out because nobody could keep the logistics straight.
Sure, there are apps out there that try to help. But most of them are older, outdated, and only solve a piece of the puzzle. One app handles scheduling. Another tries to do messaging. But when it comes to the biggest pain point (payments), most teams in 2026 are still collecting money manually through Venmo, Zelle, or even cash in envelopes.
Nobody's brought it all together in one modern, easy-to-use app. And we kept asking ourselves: why not?
We also know that coaching usually isn't someone's full-time job. These are parents, volunteers, and community members who give their time because they love the sport. The last thing they need is more administrative work piling up, like tracking who paid, sending reminders, and coordinating schedules. It can become genuinely overwhelming.
We built LyneUp so coaches and players can get back to doing what they love, and leave the busy work to us. Scheduling, payments, communication, roster management, it all lives in one place, designed to be as easy as sending a text message.
No more spreadsheets. No more awkward payment reminders. No more guessing who's showing up on Saturday. Just sports, the way it should be.
We're athletes first. Every feature we build comes from real experiences on the field, court, and diamond.
Sports bring people together. We're here to remove the friction so communities can focus on what matters.
Not just scheduling. Not just messaging. Everything a team needs (payments, rosters, communication) in one place.
Coaches and parents are busy. LyneUp is designed to be intuitive enough that anyone can pick it up instantly.
